I lived in Guangdong, China, for 11 years, and this is easily the most authentic Cantonese-style restaurant you'll find in Utah. They serve dim sum every day until 3 PM, and you can even special order Beijing duck with 48 hours' notice--truly a hidden gem!
Hong Kong Tea House is a hidden gem in downtown Salt Lake! Their lunch combo is a great option if you're feeding a team and need takeout. Their dim sum style menu is delicious and a great way to hang around with fellow diners. They have a few large round tables with a lazy Susan which makes it great for sharing. The staff is always so nice and are very helpful when you need advice on what to order. I'd highly suggest giving them a try!
Food is amazing, and even thought it is a small family run restaurant, they still try their hardest to make it a good experience. The service is great, don't let the part of town fool you. Parking can be tough, but it is so worth it.
The peking duck was delicious! The skin was very crispy and the meat was savory. It was everything I was looking for!
When we come to SLC, sadly only four times a year, this is the only place we go to eat out. We are so addicted to their dimsum, something we were introduced to while living in Southeast Asia. If you have not had dimsum, it is a very fun experience! Kind of like Chinese Tapas. If you have, know that this is a smaller, family operation but with an amazingly large menu! No dimsum carts here but your own personal orders taken at the table and delivered to you hot and straight from the kitchen! Apart from dimsum, they have a wonderfully large regular menu of Chinese dishes. Wonderful! 10 stars! Looking forward to our next visit!

We ordered: Homemade dumplings Shanghai dumplings Pork dumplings Potstickers Shrimp & chive dumplings & of course some steamed pork buns to go So so yummy, all of our cravings were satisfied! The steamed pork buns were our absolutely favorite. Service was good. We went around 2 pm on a Friday so there wasn't too much of a crowd. 100% will be going back!
